Biography
Dr. Chaoming Wang is a principal investigator at GDIIST and leads the Digital Brain Laboratory. He received his B.E. from Beijing Jiaotong University, his Ph.D. from Peking University, and was a Boya Postdoctoral Fellow at Peking University.
His research focuses on software, algorithms, and computational models for large-scale brain simulation. He has published over 10 papers in Nature Communications (2025, 2026), eLife (2023), Cell Reports (2024), ICLR, and others, and holds multiple Chinese invention patents.

Foundational software for large-scale brain simulation
Multi-scale modeling toolchain from ion channels and cells to circuits and whole-brain networks; high-performance parallel simulation across CPU, GPU, and TPU.

Modeling algorithms for brain dynamics
Algorithms that balance biological fidelity and computational efficiency: online learning for spiking networks, modular cognitive learning, and joint data- and task-driven multi-scale modeling.

Cross-scale dynamics across molecules, cells, circuits, and systems — supporting research on neural dynamics, cognition, and disease mechanisms.
